Fr. Francis D’Souza
Rector
It makes me happy to convey my greetings to all our Friends, Benefactors, Well-wishers and above all who are reading this Message.
St. Joseph’s Regional Seminary, Allahabad aims at giving an integrated formation, taking into account the factors that affect the training of the candidates of priesthood in a society which is in rapid transition. The goal of all priestly formation is to enable the candidates to grow into mature priesthood, to the measure of the full stature of Christ (cf. Pastores Dabo Vobis, 43). A priest must be truly an integrated person, in whom physical, psychological and relational, spiritual and moral dimensions are harmoniously blended (Charter of Priestly Formation for India, 3.1.3.). In the process of this priestly formation, it looks into seriously the human, spiritual, intellectual, pastoral and missionary formation of the Seminarians through relevant courses in psycho-spirituality and affective maturity, exposures to growth-promoting real life experiences, small group orientation and personal accompaniment of the Seminarians.
I pray that our tireless and selfless efforts in this Seminary do not go in vain. I am sure that Formators and Formees work together so that all of us grow in our commitment to the tasks evangelization with the fire of love of Jesus and with a burning desire to make him known more widely.
On behalf of the Staff and the Students I thank Mr. Rajeev Francis who came forward and took an extraordinary initiative to help us out in launching this website; and showing and creating an ever more interest in the formation of future priests in the Seminary, keeping in mind how crucial it is to have committed and holy priests in the Church today. I also thank his E-Care team in Allahabad which is working tirelessly to keep the data up-to-date.
We wish to reach our friends and well-wishers through this website as quickly as possible with the activities happening in this seminary. We appeal to our friends to help us in our endeavor and be partners in the work of formation.
Let us stay connected and help each other.
